My uniform lately has consisted of some variation on a patterned bottom with a pop of neon on top. Hey, stick with what you know right?

White pants can be tough. They are notoriously unflattering and most people shy away from them. I hadn’t tried any on for some time for fear of a dressing room melt down. I was pleasantly surprised to find this pair at Old Navy. They’re the sweatheart fit which works great for smaller waists but bigger bottoms.
I know how hard I had to search for the perfect pair so I thought I would share my tips for finding a great pair of white jeans:
1. Don’t be afraid to go up a size. White bottoms do tend to show every bump and bulge and going up a size can help to disguise those areas you don’t want to show off.
2. Stay away from super skinny cuts. A straight leg pair is much easier to wear and creates a longer leaner line.
3. If you can see the pockets through the material, steer clear!

I’ve been looking for a great pair of silk cropped pants for awhile now. Every pair I tried on just seemed to be made for someone else. As soon as I saw these pants I knew I had to have them, even if I didn’t love the fit. I mean let’s face it, silk harem-type pants don’t normally equal flattering! Luckily I ended up really liking how they looked and adding a simple yellow tee really made this outfit for me. Hope it’s sunny wherever you are!

I wore this outfit last week to an event with a discussion led by Lainey from LaineyGossip. I wasn’t sure what to expect but it turned out to be a fascinating discussion of gossip, celebrities, branding and gender. Almost a week later and I find myself still thinking about everything that was discussed. It has certainly encouraged me to interpret the world of celebrity gossip in a much more critical way. All in all it was a great night and I am so glad I attended! Have you ever been to an event that turned out to be something much more that you expected?
